We’ve seen incredible potential with AI to change the way users interface with our platform and build plans.
By enabling the use of natural language (simple text prompts) to visualize and interrogate data, build modeling blocks, and forecast, we can accelerate the experience for those already familiar with planning, but also allow less technical users to make sense of their data and plans.
We’ve been building and adapting our AI feature set, leveraging both generative AI and machine learning (ML), with a select group of customers in private preview, and we’re now ready to share some details with you.
Our approach to AI implementation within Pigment has been deliberate and considered - we are building production-ready features, completely integrated into the platform, and we’ve been working hard to ensure that’s the case.
Let’s take a look at a few examples of features live in our AI private preview.
Data visualization
This allows users to generate charts and drill down into specific drivers just by asking Pigment AI.
Anything done using Pigment AI can be tweaked by the end user and published to a dashboard to be shared with other users.
To take things further, it’s also possible to ask Pigment AI to analyze data. In this example, Pigment AI suggests methods the user can use to understand the main contributors behind a budget variance.
Assisted modeling
We’ve been working to impart planning knowledge into the Pigment AI bot, which means that you’re now able to just ask Pigment AI for help.
In this example, we’re able to build a P&L statement from simple text prompts - without requiring any technical modeling experience.
Forecasting
The last feature we’re highlighting today is time-series forecasting, which leverages machine learning to create forecasts based on historical data. This feature allows businesses without data science teams or with limited resources to conduct advanced forecasting activities.
In the example below, a demand planning user is able to forecast demand based on historical data, with the model selecting an appropriate forecasting model and then summarizing the forecast generated.
When can I use it?
We’re expecting Pigment AI to enter general availability later this year. If you want to see more of it in action right now, watch the AI demo from SWTCH Online on demand here.
