Today, we’re pleased to announce that Pigment has been recognized as a Visionary in our first inclusion in the Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Financial Planning Software.

We believe this recognition validates the hard work that’s gone into building the Pigment platform over the past few years.

We’d like to thank our customers, partners, advisors, and employees, past and present, for getting us to this point. Inclusion in the Magic Quadrant™ is a significant milestone for Pigment, and it gives the team great confidence as we move into 2025 and beyond. We can’t wait for you all to see what we’ve got planned.

What is the Gartner® Magic Quadrant™?

A Gartner Magic Quadrant is a culmination of research in a specific market, giving you a wide-angle view of the relative positions of the market’s competitors. By applying a graphical treatment and a uniform set of evaluation criteria, a Magic Quadrant helps you quickly ascertain how well technology providers are executing their stated visions and how well they are performing against Gartner’s market view.

Our product strategy

We wanted to shed some light on the ethos we have when we build Pigment, since we believe our inclusion in the report and our positioning as a Visionary can be attributed to it.

We use three pillars to guide our strategy:

1. Efficient architecture comes first

Pigment is a solution built to be used by planning teams across the business, and must support the most advanced calculations our customers need to conduct. That means our data model needs to be flexible, scalable, and connected.

Data is consistent across applications and functions, facilitating truly integrated business planning, and our sparse engine means that Pigment is able to handle massive datasets without running into the performance issues that can plague legacy platforms.

2. Make using Pigment great

We want to be the gold standard for customer and user experience. This informs everything we do: from the time we pour into ensuring our user interfaces are beautiful and intuitive, to the careful methodologies we (and our partners) use to ensure every Pigment implementation is a success.

We were pleased earlier this year to be named as a Gartner Customers’ Choice vendor in the 2024 Gartner® Peer Insights™ Voice of the Customer for Financial Planning Software, which synthesizes Gartner® Peer Insights reviews which are based on direct experiences of implementing and operating Pigment.

3. We’re never finished

The pace of development at Pigment is something we constantly hear great feedback from our customers and partners on. In the past year, we’ve shipped flagship features like:

Pigment AI
Pigment AI accelerates the work our customers conduct every day. Trained on a vast volume of contextual data and planning best practice, it amplifies the power of Pigment: enabling more users to conduct more complex planning tasks, faster.

Test & Deploy
Experiment with changes to your model without affecting day to day activities in your production environment: giving you confidence that you’re making effective adjustments, and full control over when these adjustments are available to end users.

Workflows and Automated Tasks
Streamline your processes by eliminating manual project management from planning. Workflows automatically notify users when their action is required, and owners can monitor progress across entire teams and functions, so plans are never late again.

New integrations
Building on our existing native connections with popular systems such as Workday and Salesforce, Pigment continues to slots seamlessly into existing Enterprise tech stacks with a new native connector for SAP 4HANA, as well as connectors for ETL providers such as MuleSoft to align with existing data management tooling and practices within Enterprise organizations.

Audit Logs API
Provides flexibility for leaders, including CIOs and CSOs, to have complete oversight of data access and activity within Pigment for ongoing security and risk management.

And there’s plenty to look forward to coming soon: Pigment AI enhanced with machine learning forecasting and assisted modeling, geospatial maps, bi-directional Excel connector, Teams integration, and more.

Check the roadmap for more details on what’s coming next.
