At a glance

  • Spendesk previously used Google Sheets, but needed a tool that was more capable of supporting complex models.
  • Pigment’s collaboration and access rights functionality made it an obvious choice for the team.
  • The team has seen a dramatic improvement in everyday productiveness using Pigment, allowing them to spend more time on strategic work.

Founded in 2016, Spendesk is a Paris-based fintech that simplifies and automates spend management for businesses. The platform offers an all-in-one solution for managing company expenses, from corporate cards and invoice processing to expense reimbursements and budget tracking.

Moving away from spreadsheets

What drove Spendesk to Pigment was frustrations with using spreadsheets. Working within Google Sheets was proving difficult as the model grew, and the natural limitations of spreadsheets - slow performance, multiple different versions, no access rights - meant it was time to move on.

“With our Google Spreadsheet, it was really complicated to update things or add dimensions. With Pigment, we can easily update our models and add dimensions without breaking everything.”

Feature highlight: Access Rights

Moving to Pigment allowed Spendesk to make use of Pigment’s Access Rights feature, a form of data security that allows you to configure what data individual users can see and interact with.

Such granular access rights are massively helpful when working with confidential data - allowing everyone to see only what they should, without having to generate multiple different versions of the same model.
