For more than 40 years, Prisma Media has been a dominant presence in the magazine and online media industries, reaching nearly 39 million readers monthly through its portfolio of 40 flagship brands that includes Harpers Bazaar, National Geographic and Capital.
In a rapidly evolving market, Prisma Media sought to modernize its approach to managing production costs by leveraging Pigment’s innovative financial planning solution in collaboration with implementation partner, MeltOne. The implementation of Pigment on magazine production costs has two major purposes:
Prisma Media faced challenges in managing the production and distribution costs of numerous magazines. The volume of their data made external simulations and data imports and exports overly complex, time-consuming and in need of constant maintenance. To overcome these obstacles, Prisma Media sought a reliable and agile tool that was capable of handling the diverse data and variables intrinsic to its operations.
Implementing Pigment was a collaborative project that combined Prisma Media’s internal expertise with MeltOne’s experience delivering seamless implementations.
Live within 8 weeks, Pigment has already delivered significant productivity gains, saving Prisma Media an estimated month’s work through automated calculations and reliable data management.
A key priority for Prisma Media was ensuring that the chosen planning platform was user-friendly to facilitate adoption and ensure that teams were able to manage and navigate the planning process independently. MeltOne provided training and support to Prisma Media’s teams throughout the collaboration, ensuring smooth adoption.
Looking ahead, Prisma Media plans to expand Pigment’s use to other aspects of production and financial planning.
